State task force seeks
​comments on universal health care

The state’s Joint Task Force on Universal Health Care is seeking public comments.
Rick Staggenborg, a Linn County Democrat who serves on the Health Care for All Oregon Membership Committee, is scheduled spoke during the Linn Dems monthly general meeting Sept. 2. He suggested a number of questions for people to consider before submitting their comments: 
• What do you want to see in a publicly funded universal health care system? 
• No premiums? 
• No bills at point of service? 
• Complete choice of primary care providers? 
• Dental and vision coverage?
• Cost controls that limit profit instead of care?
• All the above?
“If you have a personal story about why this is important to you, please include it,” Staggenborg said.
The Linn County Democratic Central Committee adopted a resolution in March 2019 affirming health care as a human right and endorsing Health Care for all Oregon.
