Linn Dems, GOP adopt resolution
honoring the late Steve Druckenmiller

Longtime Linn County Clerk Steve Druckenmiller died Sept. 24 at age 72 after a 6-month battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29, at the Linn County Fair & Expo Center in Albany.

Resolution of Recognition of Public Service
Whereas, it is with heavy hearts and deep gratitude that we gather today to pay tribute to the life and public service of Linn County Clerk Steve Druckenmiller, a dedicated public servant who has passed away;
Whereas, Steve Druckenmiller devoted his life to the service of our county, demonstrating unwavering dedication, patriotism, and an unyielding commitment to the preservation of our democracy;
Whereas, Steve Druckenmiller served his County with distinction and integrity for 44 Years of Service, overseeing 141 vote-by-mail elections, the most in the United States, plus 28 poll elections; earning the respect and admiration of colleagues, constituents, and the community as a whole;
Whereas, throughout his illustrious career, Steve Druckenmiller exhibited a tireless work ethic, exceptional leadership skills, and an unwavering commitment to upholding the principles of transparency, accountability, and fairness in all his undertakings;
Whereas, Steve Druckenmiller demonstrated an unparalleled devotion to the electoral process, ensuring the accessibility and fairness of elections, thus strengthening the foundations of our democracy;
Whereas, Steve Druckenmiller was not only a diligent public servant but also a mentor, inspiring countless individuals to pursue careers in public service and exemplifying the qualities of compassion and service to others;
Whereas, Steve Druckenmiller's legacy of election integrity will forever serve as an inspiration to us all, reminding us of the profound impact one individual can have on our county, state and the broader society;
Now, therefore, be it resolved that the Linn County Democrats, and Linn County Republicans both jointly expresses our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Steve Druckenmiller, acknowledging the immeasurable loss our county has suffered with his passing;
Be it further resolved that elected representatives of Linn County from both major parties are united in recognizing and honoring Steve Druckenmiller for his lifetime of public service, patriotism, and unwavering commitment to the preservation of our democracy;
Be it further resolved that Steve Druckenmiller's legacy of integrity, dedication, and devotion to the public interest shall forever be etched in the annals of our County's history, inspiring future generations of public servants to follow in his footsteps;
Be it finally resolved that this Resolution be presented to the family of Steve Druckenmiller as a token of our county's deep appreciation for his outstanding contributions to the welfare of our community.
