Healthcare for All Oregon urges federal waivers
to allow states to redirect funds for universal health care

Picture
Rick Staggenborg, a Linn County Democrat who serves on the Healthcare for All Oregon (HCAO) membership committee, passed on this announcement:
HCAO is asking that people contact Sen. Ron Wyden about including waivers that would allow states to redirect federal ERISA (Employment Retirement Income Security Act) and other funds that cannot currently be applied to paying for a publicly financed system of universal health care. Since a substantial majority of medical insurance falls under ERISA, a state-based universal system is not feasible until such a waiver is passed. You can contact Sen. Wyden  at https://www.wyden.senate.gov/contact
