Election security forum set for Thursday on ZoomElection Day is just around the corner. Elections offices will start mailing ballots to Oregon Voters on Wednesday, Oct. 14. Many voters will immediately return their ballots.
Recently, there have been a lot of questions about election security and vote by mail. What happens to your ballot when it leaves your hands? Who collects the ballots from the drop boxes? How can you know if your ballot has been received? How does the elections office know it's really you that voted? What happens if there is a problem with your signature? Who monitors the counting? Can the machines be hacked? How can you know your ballot will be counted? These questions and more will be answered at this non-partisan online forum hosted by State Sen. Sara Gelser with special guests-- Benton County Clerk James Morales and Benton County Elections Manager Darla Rush. We will start with introductory comments from the panelists. Then I will pose frequently asked questions and questions submitted in advance. Finally, there will be time for questions from the audience that are submitted through the moderator.
