Linn Dems urge prompt removal of Trump from officesThe LInn County Democratic Central Committee has unanimously approved a resolution urging the prompt removal of Donald Trump from office. The Linn Democrats took the action Thursday, Jan. 7, at their monthly general meeting on Zoom. Here is the resolution:
Linn County Democratic Central Committee Resolution 2021-1 Recommending the removal of President Donald J. Trump from office by impeachment and/or the 25th Amendment, including prohibition from serving in federal office. WHEREAS, President Donald J. Trump on Jan 2, 2021, asked the Georgia Secretary of State to fraudulently “find” enough votes to flip the Nov. 3, 2020, presidential election outcome, so that Trump would become the winner in that state; and WHEREAS, President Donald J. Trump has ceaselessly lied to the American people, falsely contending that the election was “stolen” and that he was the winner; and WHEREAS, President Donald J. Trump on Jan. 6, 2021, exhorted his supporters in Washington, D.C. to “show strength,” emboldening them to lay siege to the nearby United States Capitol, resulting in deaths, injuries, damage, chaos and an egregious assault on our democracy. NOW THEREFORE, THE LINN COUNTY DEMOCRATIC CENTRAL COMMITTEE RESOLVES that President J. Donald should promptly be removed from office by impeachment and/or the 25th Amendment, including prohibition from serving in federal office. |
