- WHAT: Democratc challengers Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff are battling Republicans Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue, respectively, in special election run-offs. None of the candidates received the minimum 50 percent of the vote, required to win, in the Nov. 3 General Election.

- WHAT'S AT STAKE: If Warnock and Ossoff win, Democrats will regain control of the U.S. Senate, with 50 senators and incoming.Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris as the deciding vote in tie-breakers. Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-New York, would become the Senate Majority Leader and current Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Kentucky, would become Senate Minority Leader.
