OCCUPATIONAL BACKGROUND: Certified Public Accounting practice, from 1974 to 2017 in Oregon (Corvallis for 2 years, Albany for 41 years); and 1970 to 1974 in Denver, Colorado.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND: Pacific Lutheran University, BSBA in 1965; University of Denver, MSBA in 1970
PRIOR GOVERNMENTAL EXPERIENCE: member of the Board of Education of Linn-Benton Community College from 2007 through present. This is an elected position.
OTHER INFORMATION: I’ve actually been involved with LBCC since 1974 when I started teaching an accounting course in the evening. Since that time I have been involved in a number of ways: working for 2 different CPA firms that have performed annual financial audits of LBCC; been the treasurer of many levy elections of LBCC; member of the Board of the LBCC Foundation; played in their fundraising golf tournaments, and many other things. I strongly support LBCC’s mission of providing an education that enables all students to benefit from the economic vitality of our communities. I have seen time and time again, that the education that LBCC provides, changes lives!!
I have also been an active member of the Albany community by being a charter member (since 1979) of the Greater Albany Rotary Club, a member of the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce, a long-time member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church (including singing in the choir!!), a prior member on the United Way board, a prior member of the board of the Samaritan Albany General Hospital Foundation, and a prior member of the board of Central Willamette Credit Union.
I served in the US Navy for a total of 24 years: 4 years of active duty and 20 years in the Navy Reserve, reaching the rank of Captain (O6).
