WHY I'M RUNNING: I have spent my life serving others in one capacity or another. I want to serve the people of District 17, to give back to the people who have given so much to me during my 25 years of living in this area. I come from a farming family, and I want to make sure that farmers in District 17 have what they need to thrive in one of the riskiest business ventures there is. I come from rural people, and I want to make sure that we have the same quality of education, the same opportunity for well-paying jobs, and the same assurance of safety in our homes, businesses, churches and schools as others in Oregon. I believe that political service is, or should be, one of the highest forms of service to others. I believe I can be an asset to the people of District 17 in Salem because I share the same values and the same desire for the chance to look forward to good educations, good jobs, higher incomes and more care for each other.
