WHY I'M RUNNING: "I have spent my career striving to promote public safety and offender accountability, while fighting for the rights of crime victims. Over the last 22 years, I have handled thousands of cases. I have had the unique opportunity to see the difference between people who just make a mistake, have fallen on hard times or have become addicted to controlled substances. I have also witnessed individuals who, as a way of life, victimize innocent people and our society for their own personal gain and gratification. I have the experience to recognize those who need help and those that need to be incarcerated in order to protect society. "I am committed to the proposition that every person who comes before the court has a right to be heard and to be treated fairly in the eyes of the law. The fair, impartial and expeditious exercise of our judicial process is essential to accomplish that necessary goal. "I have spent my entire legal career in the service of the public as a prosecutor. My extensive experience makes me uniquely qualified to be your next Judge. I have been in court on an almost daily basis, having taken literally hundreds of cases to trial. "I have spent over 15 years in service to the people of Linn County and have lived in Linn County since 1996. I believe judges should be elected by the citizens they serve. I am committed to serving the citizens Linn County and to ensure that the law is followed fairly and impartially."
